What’s the Word?

My newest addiction is the app What’s the Word. This game really gets you thinking. You are shown 4 pictures and you have to figure out what word describes all four. Some are easy and some make you crazy trying to determine the right word. This is an engaging way to learn vocabulary and work on higher order thinking in the classroom.
Here are two from tonight’s round:

The answer is shell.
This one drove me nuts! Do you know the answer?

Ready for a challenge? Give me your guesses for the 2nd one by Adding a Comment below. I will reveal the correct answer after I hear from you. This seriously about caused me an anxiety attack. LOL

  1. LOL! My daughter and I flipped out over that one, too! This game is all the rage in my neck of the woods. We bring it to dance practice, and all of the moms and kids are in the foyer passing around devices trying to figure out one that has stumped the owner. I was about to feature it on my blog, too – engagetheirminds.com

  2. Thanks for the comments! This game really is a blast and easy to get caught up in the challenges. Louisa, you are so right! The answer was cyan. You are a genius! I really struggled with that one. At least I learned something!
