Help: 6 Word Memoir

In recent weeks I have been intrigued with the idea of 6 Word Memoirs or 6 Word Stories. This idea started with Smith magazine a few years ago and has expanded to NPR, You Tube, and blogs. Basically you summarize your life story in 6 words. This six word notion can also be used to summarize something learned or experienced. Teachers are using this concept as Exit slips in the classroom and for reflection of understanding. I like it. I really do! Here is an example from a middle school class:

So, here is where I need your help. I have the amazing opportunity to speak with a group of principals next week at a state conference. My plan is to use the 6 Word Memoir to express the thoughts of teachers and students regarding technology. In just six short words can you sum up your personal experiences, feelings, thoughts, perspective of technology? I know you and your students will have insightful and humorous things to share. Not only will this demonstrate the realistic views of technology, but it will show the power of online collaboration! Please be part of my project!

If sometime this week you and your students could put together PowerPoint slides of your 6 Word Memoirs or even little video clips saying yours, that would be awesome! I will put all the pieces together and share our collaborative work here on the blog, as well as at the conference. I am so excited! Please make sure to give the name and age of the person’s remarks. Code names are fine and last names are not necessary.

When you fill out this simple form, I will share a Dropbox folder with you, so you can drop your finished projects in the folder, easy peasy! I will put everything together on Saturday, March 9.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this experience. Can’t wait to hear from you.
Thanks for your help! This deadline has passed.

We at "Sunday Morning" love a good book- and so does blogger Katie Fulton. Fulton created this Christmas Tree that's, well tree-mendously impressive! She admits to reading ONLY 266 of the 460 books. Quite a novel idea.
