This is our last Tech or Treat post! Dry your eyes. It will be ok. There’s always next year! I sure hope you have had as much fun as I have today. Here are a few more things to try. I thought they might be nice to know about when you are planning lessons for next week.
Oxford Owl: Who doesn’t love FREE ebooks? This site works on iPads and computers and has a library of over 250 free ebooks. Absolutely a teacher’s dream!
Math Trail: What happens when you put maps, Google, and math together? You get Math Trails! This interactive site is perfect for your geography unit.
Science of Everyday Life: Kids are naturally curious and science is all about asking good questions. Use this site from Discovery Education to bring out the Bill Nye in your students. Full of videos and interactives to use with all grade levels.
Just for kicks!
I’m just going to say it. I think my avatar is absolutely adorable! I wish I could take credit for her, but the wonderful graphic designers at SDE came up with my mini-me and they went out of their way to dress her up for Halloween! Thanks, Faulkner & Temple! You ROCK!
So, if you have ever wanted an illustrated version of yourself let me share with you a new app I found called Chibis. You can create your very own avatar. It is lots of fun and your kids will laugh at your cartoonish image. They can make their own avatars also!

Purty up (pretty up for the sophisticated among us) your iPad or iPhone with Monogram. Make yourself look all preppy and Lilly Pulitzer with this totally non-educational app. Sometimes you just gotta be girly!
