Be A Winner! Chicago

Chicago has become one of my favorite cities to visit every year. I love the shopping, Sprinkles Cupcakes…Yum!!!, museums, Navy Pier, Garrett Popcorn, and on and on. Each July I love Chicago even more because SDE has a national conference right on the best street in town. This year’s conference is called the Extraordinary Educators Conference and will take place July 20-24. This conference is a totally new format and has new sessions. You are going to love it. Presenters this year include Rick Wormeli, Erin Klein, Kyle Pace, Marcia Tate, Julie Ramsay, Greg Tang, Betty Hollas, Laureen Reynolds and many more fabulous folks! I’ll be there too! I am presenting topics such as Creating Content with iPads, Content Trailer Creation, Using KidBlogs and Edmodo, and using iMovie on the iPad. It is going to be a blast.

Here is the whole reason I am bringing this up for you to consider. SDE just sent me 10, yes 10, FREE registrations to give away to my teacher friends that follow me on Twitter and Lori’s Latest Links. How exciting is that?

The Extraordinary Educators Conference is July 20-24 in Chicago, right on the Magnificent Mile. The cost is $599. But like I said, SDE has given me 10 FREE registrations to share with my friends that follow Lori’s Latest Links. If you win, all you have to do is take care of the hotel (Marriott Chicago Downtown Magnificent Mile) and travel. I have the conference cost covered for you! To enter, please leave a comment below and tell me about what you want to learn at the conference or who you want to see.  I will use an online generator to select 10 names and each winner will have 24 hours to respond. The DEADLINE to enter is Saturday, June 15 at noon Central Time. I will announce the winners by Monday, June 17. So take a minute write a quick comment and get ready to join me in Chicago. Enter now!

** When you leave a comment it won’t post immediately. The comments come to me for moderation. I will post as quick as I can. Thanks.

  1. I just got SO excited! Hubby is driving up & has a room but we could not afford 2 registrations & he was a little concerned with leaving me alone for a week on Magnificent Mile! My #1 picks are anything by you & Marcia Tate. I LOVE technology & am ready to take it to next level with engaging presentations for me & the kids! Tech, DI, & Magnificent Mile are my favorite things. It would be a dream come true!!!

  2. Lori, I would love the chance to go back to Chicago where I first heard you speak. It would be very exciting to hear from everyone, especially Greg Tang. You have to love it when you get math and technology, my two favorite things, all wrapped up together! I hope to see you in July:)

  3. I would love to go Lori. I am switching grade levels and I would love to have some new ideas! Since I now have access to a classroom set of netbooks and some iPads I think it would be a perfect conference for me. 🙂 Thanks for posting. Jennifer

  4. Wahoo!! I just love having the experience to learn something new! With the district going to Reading the Nixa Way……guided reading and writing, I would be interested in learning more and being ready for this new way of teaching for me. And then of course…..new approaches in technology! Would love to see you as well!

  5. Sounds exciting Lori! Of course I would love learning anything about technology and best practices from an amazing group of presenters. We'll be doing even more in our classrooms with small groups this coming school year, so it would be great to bring back some new teaching ideas from the best! It would be great to attend your workshops and catch up! Fingers crossed!!!

  6. Hey, Lori, is this just for elementary teachers or for those of in a certain state? I would LOVE to go! I have a class set of iPads for my high school class that I just received in March and would love to develop new lessons. And seeing you again would be a bonus!!

  7. Lori,

I am already scheduled to attend the conference. As a matter of fact I printed my conference handouts today. Is there a way that my school could be reimbursed the conference fee if I won? 🙂

  8. What a wonderful opportunity that I wouldn't normally have! I am moving to fourth grade this year and would love some ideas and support with common core. I also love Greg Tang and would be excited to hear him speak. Thanks!

  9. Lori… I don't think my reply posted. So just to be sure, I would like to thank you for a wonderful workshop today at IPA and for giving 10 people an opportunity to win passes to attend such a prestigious conference – I would absolutely love to attend and whoever gets chosen will be very lucky. You just never know! 🙂 Thank you for making this conference possible for 10 lucky people!

So excited to read it. Pick me!

  11. This would be an amazing opportunity for me if I was chosen. I would love to attend more of your workshops and Greg Tang, but honestly I think I would love and learn so much from all of them. Thank you for your workshop you presented today at IPA, it was wonderful learning from you like always. Thank you for this opportunity as well.

  13. Lori,

I have never been to the Extraordinary Educators Conference and would love to go! A few of the sessions I would absolutely love to attend are "5 Keys & 10 Tips to Workplace Success for Students with Special Needs", "Content Trailers: Energize Your Lessons with…-Flipped Session", "Sharing & Learning with Kidblog: A Make & Take", "Success! Math Interventions That Really Work", "Mind Maps, Mnemonics & Memory Secrets"… just to name a few!

  14. I would love the opportunity to attend! I am a Learning Design Coach for my district, that means I am a teacher leader helping integrate technology into classrooms in the middle school and high school. I am always looking for ways to inspire and ignite the teachers i work with! This looks INCREDIBLE!

We at "Sunday Morning" love a good book- and so does blogger Katie Fulton. Fulton created this Christmas Tree that's, well tree-mendously impressive! She admits to reading ONLY 266 of the 460 books. Quite a novel idea.
